Schenker Logistics is engaged in a global unified communications deployment that will begin in Australia.
Schenker Logistics is one of Australia's largest international logistics solutions providers and recently merged with BAX Global, making them both part of the Deutsche Bahn AG stable of companies.
The company has selected Touchbase Australia to streamline and unify its telephony and call centre infrastructure following the merger and to implement a Cisco unified comms system.
To date, two sites have been upgraded including a warehouse in Brisbane and office in Melbourne, according to Stephen Beacham, the company's A/NZ general manager of IT.
Beacham said Cisco's unified communications solution is currently being deployed at Schenker's two call centres in Sydney.
"Schenker Logistics is a 24-hour operation with sites not only across Australia but throughout the world," he said.
Meanwhile, Touchbase Australia announced earlier this week it would extend its multi-million dollar multi-media contact centre project for Austar through a new deal to provide the television subscription operator with a call recording solution in partnership with leading analytic software company Verint.
The project involves installing a Verint Call Recording, Screen Capture, Quality and Coaching and Data Analytics solution for Austar's 400-seat contact centre on the Gold Coast.
Touchbase Australia business leader, Andrew Fisher, said the Austar project is based on the Cisco Unified Contact Centre Enterprise solution.
Late last year Touchbase Australia announced it had won the project to design, build and install one of the most advanced multimedia contact centres in the country for Austar.
Fisher said the solution will support 1,000 users across the business and will represent one of the most sophisticated uses of the Cisco Systems product set in Australia.
