Response Networks Inc. on Monday announced that it had acquired AperServ Technologies Inc. in a sign of consolidation in the service-level management arena.
Response Networks a North Andover, Mass.-based QoS (quality of service) software company, plans to immediately deliver Vienna, Va.-based AperServ's flagship product to its customers.
The AperServ solution monitors the performance of network traffic caused by outsourced partners, such as ad and caching services. The software also automatically sends trouble tickets to service providers, and tracks credits for SLA violations.
Representatives from both Response Networks and SLA (service level agreement) specialist AperServ hailed the deal as a merger of complementary technologies that should benefit customers looking for SLA solutions.
"By joining forces and integrating our unique technologies, Response Networks has positioned itself to become the clear leader in the service level management market," said Ted Joseph, Response's chairman and CEO, in a statement.
"We see this acquisition as a tremendous opportunity not only for AperServ and Response Networks, but also for the AperServ customer base, as well as the industry at large," added Greg Keough, AperServ's founder and CEO, in a statement.
"By joining forces, we will be able to more quickly provide better products and services that have a greater impact on how enterprises and service providers operate, and advance the industry's ability to increase quality of service," Keough said.
