NetOpt Introduces TRITTON Audio Xtreme PC HeadPhones Into Australia

 • 13 July, 2007 09:59

NetOpt today launched TRITTON’s Audio Xtreme PC (AXPC) True 5.1 (up to 7.1) Surround Sound USB headphones for gamers and DVD buffs. AXPC is also compatible with MAC.

The AXPC is the follow-up product to TRITTON’s highly popular AX360 gaming headphones for XBOX, Playstation 2 and 3, and other consoles (which connect via digital optical or digital coaxial ports). The AXPC is available for $159 GST inclusive from NetOpt.

Most new games and movies are created with 5.1 channels of audio. While other headphones may claim 5.1 sound, it is either simulated or emulated 5.1. This simulation or emulation deprives gamers and DVD buffs of truly experiencing all 5.1 channels of audio and special effects. AXPC delivers True 5.1 Surround Sound. Furthermore, you don’t need a sound card to use TRITTON’s AXPC headphones.

The AXPC features a total of 8 speakers, 4 in each ear cup (centre, front, rear, and subwoofer). Integrated into the in-line audio controller are volume adjustments for the individual sound fields, master volume control, volume mute and mic mute. The audio controller also has a specialized chipset that amplifies each of the 8 individual speakers ensuring optimum sound quality. Located on the left ear cup is a removable microphone that is ideal for online gaming and also for use with VoIP phones such as SightSpeed, Skype, Google Talk and Yahoo IM.

The USB 2.0/1.1 interface allows for plug-n-play installation and true digital sound quality. If you are listening to audio that was recorded in Stereo, included software will allow you to simulate 2.1, and up to 7.1 surround sound. The integrated Rumble Technology will blow listeners minds, giving a more realistic and engrossing game play.

“The AX360 headphones paved the way for a new generation of high performance, true surround sound gaming headsets, and now the AXPC packages the most advanced audio technology for PC gamers,” said Chris Von Huben, president of TRITTON Technologies. “These things are truly amazing, allowing any gamer to immerse themselves in an audio nirvana, hearing and feeling everything that transpires in the game with depth and spatial accuracy.”

Gamers can select from 23 Different EQ settings to customize their listening experience whether it is a game, music or a movie. With the AXPC, users can tell their team mates when someone is sneaking up on them, enjoy a movie in its original audio format, and hear a CD like they have never heard it before, or place calls using their preferred chat client or VoIP all with one headset.
