Unisys Australia has signed a deal with human resource company Talent2 for a managed service in contract recruitment for a period of two years.
The deal involves implementing a "contractor acquisition centre" managed by Talent2 working directly with various Unisys Australia business units.
The contract acquisition centre will fill all contract and temporary labour hire for the entire length of the managed service contract.
Talent2 believes it will fill around 380 positions annually. Spokesperson Paula Baskus said the work of the contract acquisition centre is to provide candidates that are the best fit for Unisys in the shortest possible time.
"The contractor acquisition centre will create a talent pool of candidates so that when contractors are needed, we can supply the right applicant for the job quickly, and have confidence they are the right person for the role," Baskus said.
"Embedding members of Talent2 within Unisys allows for our people to gain a far deeper understanding of the culture of the organization, the requirements of available positions and an extremely cost-effective and streamlined process."
Melanie Laing, HR director for Unisys Asia Pacific, said she believes the approach will eliminate contractor to permanent transition costs and overall cost reduction for recruitment.
"The result will be the creation of an exclusive talent pool of candidates for Unisys, elimination of contractor to permanent transition costs and overall cost reduction for recruitment," Laing said.
"From our Unisys West experience we were able to reduce the time it takes to fill permanent positions from 45 days to 8 days per role with Talent2's support, providing a huge benefit to our customers."
Talents2 provides similar services to Unisys West (joint venture between Unisys and BankWest) and previously for Unisys China.
