People joins forces with Crazy John's

People Telecom strikes deal with Crazy John's covering its fixed voice and broadband services

People Telecom has recruited national phone retailer, Crazy John's, to on-sell its range of fixed voice and broadband services.

Crazy John's will have access to People Telecom's full range of ADSL high-speed broadband services. While the fixed contract starts immediately, the broadband deal won't commence until October.

According to a statement, the retailer will use the deal to kick-start its broadband consumer and SMB push. Crazy John's has about 130 outlets across Australia.

People national marketing manager, Sarah Curtis, said the voice contract would be worth at least $1 million per annum but she was unable to put a figure on the wholesale broadband deal.

"The broadband contract will be dependent on the volume of sales," she said.

The opportunity to work with Crazy John's opened up after the retailer's existing fixed telecoms contract with Telstra expired, Curtis said.

People Telecom currently has 10 wholesale broadband. Curtis said it was looking to significantly ramp up the division with new customers over the next year. It also plans to expand the wholesale business by working with smaller ISPs and telcos, the company said.
