Managed IT network services vendor S Central has acquired network services provider Expressapps, marking its third buy in seven months in the virtualization, storage and managed services markets.
The acquisition, finalized last week, follows the purchase of IT professional services company AGM IT, and hosted data centre vendor IT On-Demand, in November last year to expand its virtualization and storage networking offerings in NSW.
Expressapps has 25 staff and started out delivering computer-based process control solutions to the manufacturing industry, but has since shifted to becoming a managed IT network services provider.
According to S Central managing director Peter Mavridis, Expressapps, will boost S Central's workforce across Australia to more than 150 people, and will deepen the company's technical resources in its focused technology practices.
"Expressapps has transformed itself into a trusted and skilled partner for enterprises seeking to undertake server-based virtual computing projects,'' Mavridis said.
"The company has an established track record in the IT industry, and a large proportion of the staff are technical people with considerable skills in Citrix, Microsoft and VMware technologies.''
He said the company will seek further local IT acquisitions and will pursue a listing on the Australian Stock Exchange over the next few years.
Mavridis did not reveal the cost of the deal, but said S Central has now acquired six companies in the past three years.
