Email compliance and security vendor, Messaging Architects, has hired Shane Davies as its director of technical services. He will be charged with providing specialised services, technical support and partner training.
Managing director for Asia-Pacific, Adam Barker, said the newly created role would help it to improve local partner and customer support.
"Shane has an expert level of knowledge primarily in Novell solutions, so he is going to be a great addition to us here. We'll also be bringing some additional resources on-board, which he will be managing," he said. "It gives us a greater depth in regards to what we can offer to the market."
Davies was previously the director of the Freestyle Group in Perth.
Alongside the new appointment, Barker said Messaging Architects was considering introducing a channel certification program in the coming months. He was actively looking to recruit more dealers across the country via its distributor, Open Channel Solutions.
"A lot of resellers are coming directly to us because we are getting so much traction in education and government," Barker said.
He will also look to expand the company's sales team to cope with the growth it had experienced. The vendor's flagship product, GWArchive, helps organisations needing to abide by regulatory compliance issues manage email data.
"We're small but we're growing rapidly," Barker said. "In the next few months a lot of companies will need to legally keep records."
