DST International moves global Software Development and Testing Programmes to Melbourne

<p>Sydney, 4 March 2004 – DST International (DSTi), the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry, today outlined that its Melbourne Development Centre will now house a new development programme for one of the company’s leading global solutions, OpenMessenger. DSTi Australia will also now project manage all future product testing for HiNet, its back office accounting engine for the lucrative United States market. OpenMessenger is used for electronic trade confirmation, settlement and reconciliation by investment organisations. Both solutions were previously based in the company’s Surbiton, United Kingdom and Boston, United States Development Centres respectively.</p>
<p>“This is a significant global decision for DST International to make – these two solutions alone already account for many millions in annual revenues. Being stable mates to the Australian developed HiPortfolio, which itself generates in excess of $100 million in global sales, means these products will now be in very good company and experienced hands. We are proud that Australian skills are being more deeply integrated into the future of DSTi’s business solutions offerings,” outlined Mr Ian Mathieson, Managing Director of DST International in Australia.</p>
<p>“We have made enormous commitments to our client base over the past few years to remain ahead of the competition in investment solutions offerings – every cost saving allows us to continue the investments we make in keeping our products ‘future proof’. We have already committed tens of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of man days of development to our global client base in the past couple of years. This just can’t be matched by our competition,” he continued.</p>
<p>Both product development and testing programmes will benefit from the proven capabilities of the well-established Melbourne Development Centre, lower cost structures of undertaking business in Australia, together with integration into the existing development programme for the company’s flagship solution, HiPortfolio, already developed in Australia.</p>
<p>“OpenMessenger is fast becoming a key component of our portfolio management offering, HiPortfolio/3 and we have no doubt that there will be ongoing benefits in extending our skills to this solution in the future,” he said.</p>

<p>This moves follows on from the recent announcement of DSTi as one of the country’s Top ICT Companies by the Corporate Research Foundation.</p>
