InterSystems Corporation today announced it has acquired Australian-based TrakHealth, which provides Web-based information systems for the health sector.
The company has been an InterSystems application partner since 1991 and the TrakHealth system has already been deployed in 25 countries.
TrakHealth will operate as an independent subsidiary of InterSystems, with its own salesforce.
InterSystems flagship products include its Cache database, Ensemble integration platform and the HealthShare platform for national electronic health records.
All of the top 10 U.S. hospitals are InterSystems clients.
Announcing the acquisition, InterSystems CEO, Terry Ragon, said the union will increase the company's global prominence and open up new sales opportunities in international markets.
"TrakHealth's success in Asia and Latin America will enable InterSystems to accelerate our growth in emerging markets which hold over 70 percent of the world's population," Ragon said.
TrakHealth COO, Chris Chapman, said with the financial backing of InterSystems, TrakHealth is better positioned to deliver large-scale healthcare projects.
"This is a great move for both organisations and for the customers we serve worldwide," he said.
