TechnologyOne boosts federal government customer portfolio with two new contracts

 • 14 December, 2007 09:30

Australia - 14 December, 2007 - Technology One Limited (ASX: TNE), a leading Australian provider of enterprise business software solutions has today announced that it has been awarded contracts with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) for the supply of its Financials and Works & Assets software and Comcare for the supply of its Financials software. ASC and Comcare join more than 37 other Federal Government departments and agencies using the company’s Financials solution.

The recently signed contracts were awarded to TechnologyOne following open tenders for the replacement of the agencies existing software, which was more than eight years old and deemed to be at the end of its lifecycle.

The Australian Sports Commission is the Australian Government body that develops, services, and invests in sport at all levels in Australia, including the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics in August 2008. The ASC works closely with sports, state and local governments, schools and community groups to ensure that sport is well run and accessible to all Australians. The ASC has a number of unique business functions, requiring a flexible solution which could facilitate management of grant funding and track program and project delivery, whilst also allowing for in-depth reporting requirements.

Phased implementation for ASC will begin in November and is expected to be complete in May 2008. When fully operational, the new system will have over 150 users and will facilitate significant benefits, including improved project management with the ability to track projects across multiple years and by various resource criteria such as time, material or finances. By merging disparate systems, ASC will also have enhanced performance measurement capabilities, which will provide a higher level of visibility and timeliness of information and a bird’s eye view of the operations. The system also has the flexibility to adapt and evolve as requirements change and provide improved service to users.

Comcare is the Agency responsible for workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation in the Commonwealth Government jurisdiction. The multi-phase implementation will begin in December 2007 and is expected to be completed in May 2008. When complete, the solution will have over 100 regular users and will improve access and information flow, allowing disparate systems to be streamlined, simplify reporting processes and provide timely information. Utilising TechnologyOne Financials also means a reduced technological risk for Comcare compared to continuing with its existing legacy system.

Adrian Di Marco, Executive Chairman, TechnologyOne says that these new contracts clearly position TechnologyOne as the solution of choice for federal government portfolio agencies and illustrate the company’s standing as a best practice business software solutions provider for federal government departments and agencies.

“Paul Dunkley was appointed to ACT State Manager to oversee the development of our solutions to address specific needs of federal government departments.

“Being an Australian company with a local presence and the largest installed client base, we have been able to connect closely with our current customers to get an insight into the unique needs of federal government. This has ensured that the level and depth we provide through our fully integrated system provides our customers with a superior functional fit, reduced technological risk and the best value for money.

“In this ever-changing market, we also provide our customers with solutions that evolve with their needs, guaranteeing a simple and straightforward path with regular software releases that provide new features, functions and technology to provide long term security and functionality they are looking for”.

The ACT branch has experienced major growth over the past six months and has effectively doubled in size, with Dunkley’s appointment bringing the headcount to eight. To allow for this expansion, the office has also recently relocated to new premises in Canberra House.
