Nexon acquisition completes telco package

Staff recruitment underway

Local integrator Nexon Asia Pacific has acquired ATD Technologies' PABX and cabling division, completing its strategy to provide full in-house communication capabilities.

The company can now offer customized PABX and IP communications solutions, as well as security, hosting and professional services without the need to subcontract its cabling requirements.

Nexon national sales manager, David Russell, said ATD Technologies initiated the deal by offering Nexon the chance to purchase the division.

"ATD Technologies wanted to focus on their peripherals business so they approached us with an offer," Russell said.

"We have hired four new base staff as a result [of the acquisition] and we have access to about 20 staff including the cabling divisions' subcontractors."

Nexon managing director, Charles Assaf, said the deal was struck because ATD believed its division would fit well with Nexon.

"This new acquisition enables Nexon to provide a complete turn key ICT solution and will also help increase Nexon's IP-PBX business by more than 20 percent over the next 12 to18 months," Assaf said.

Nexon would not disclose the value of the deal, however previous acquisitions include the purchase of the telecommunications' arm of $150 million company Heyday Group and the merger of former National Telecoms Group subsidiary, Zircon.
