Stellar outcome for Red Cross implementation

Slash invoicing from days to minutes

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS) is implementing an automated data capture technology solution to support its invoice processing requirements.

To be implemented by business process outsourcing provider, Stellar, the solution includes the latest version of Ascent Capture, which enables barcode recognition, optical character recognition for machine print, intelligent character recognition for handwriting and optical mark recognition for check marks.

The solution also includes Ascent Xtrata Professional, an add-on module designed to automate the reading of semi-structured documents, such as invoices.

This will dramatically reduce the need to perform any manual indexing. Stellar's total solution also includes high-volume scanning hardware.

This is the second deal announced by Stellar in the past week. Last week the company inked a deal with transport manufacturer, MaxiTRANS, replacing its paper-based accounting system with an automated solution that slashed invoicing from two days to 15 minutes.

Stellar provides document management and workflow automation solutions.

This results in an immediate return on investment, rather than having to wait months or years," according to the company's CEO, Geoff Charters.
