Mincom has been selected to provide asset management software to the Victorian Department of Sustsainability and Environment (DSE) in a multi-million dollar deal announced today.
The deal follows an announcement that Mincom has been selected as the preferred asset management software provider for the Victorian Government.
The new arrangement extends to the whole of Victorian government allowing departments and agencies to purchase Mincom software from an existing contract with the Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice uses Mincom's GIMS (Government Infrastructure Management System). Other existing Victorian public sector customers include VicRoads, Victoria Police and the Country Fire Authority.
GIMS is currently used to maintain a detailed register, help with maintenance scheduling and recording, as well as capturing data for the full life cycle of the Department of Justice's $3 billion asset base. It is also widely used for contract and project management purposes.
DSE is the first department to sign up to implement the latest version of Mincom Ellipse under the new arrangement.
As one of the largest Victorian Government departments, DSE employs around 2,700 staff who work in 90 different locations across the state.
DSE has annual funding of around $1 billion, with responsibilities covering public land and sustainable forest management services, water management and responsibility for environmental regulations.
Mincome CEO, Richard Matthews, CEO of Mincom, said the company is targetting the public sector at the local, state and federal level.
