If the answer is yes, then log on to SearchWithKevin.com. You, too, could have a chance at winning an autographed photo of the site's namesake, Kevin Federline, the Los Angeles rapper and soon-to-be ex-husband of pop singer Britney Spears.
The SearchWithKevin.com search engine is powered by Yahoo and run by Prodege, a company based in California, that customizes the search process. Prodege also developed the software that allows users to win prizes when they do Web searches using Prodege's search technology.
Searching the Web using SearchwithKevin.com could win you an 8x10 autographed picture of Federline, a Federline T-shirt or an autographed copy of Federline's Playing With Fire CD.
Prodege picks a randon time each day when users can win prizes. The first person to run a search n after that time is the prize winner, according to the company.
"The best way to win a prize is to make SearchWithKevin.com your primary search engine, and use it whenever you need to search the Web," the company said. Participants are limited to 20 qualifying searches per day.
Scott Dudelson, Prodege's COO, said the company has been creating private label search sites for celebrities four about six or seven months. Other celebrities with custom search engine include the country western singer Wynonna, rock singer Meatloaf, rock band Hinder and comedian Andrew Dice Clay.
THe company receives revenues for celebrities like Federline when users who use SearchKevinFederline.com click on the sponsored links, Dudelson said. He declined to say how the revenue is split between the celebrities and Prodege.
Dudelson said the company, which has been in business for about one and a half years, also builds private label searches as fund-raising efforts for nonprofit organizations, such as like Musicians On Call. Dudelson said Prodege donates three cents to the nonprofit organization every time a user performs a search using its branded search engine.
