Data asset management and storage company SpectrumData and specialist IT services vendor ISA Technologies have partnered to supply the resources industry with combined data services.
The Perth-based companies will develop a 10 Gb local network to allow SpectrumData's data management, conversion and storage facilities to be shared with ISA Technologies' data processing and visualization services.
ISA Technologies managing director Sil La Puma said he hopes the Western Australian government will financially back the deal under its encouragement of IT clusters.
"We are planning for a 1Gb link to be upgraded to 10Gb and we are hopeful that the WA government will support these plans," La Puma said.
"The WA resources boom provides great opportunity to lead technologies related to capturing and interrogating the enormous data requirements of these industries."
SpectrumData CEO Guy Holmes said the deal will develop Perth as a global centre for the resource industry's data technology requirements.
"We are safeguarding the data requirements of oil and gas and resource companies in Australia and hope we can provide the best data technology service available," Holmes said.
