Juniper Wednesday posted third quarter revenue 5 percent higher than for Q3 last year and generally in line with analyst estimates.
Net revenue for the period ended Sept. 30 totaled US$573.6 million, up from US$546.4 million posted in Q3 last year. Analysts queried by Thomson Financial Network expected third quarter revenue of US$573.05 million.
Juniper did not provide earnings for the quarter perhaps due to a continuing review of the company's past stock option granting practices. Juniper has to restate prior earnings because an internal audit found it changed the grant dates of some stock options.
Juniper also did not provide earnings data for the second quarter due to the options probe and anticipation that financial restatements would be required
Nonetheless, analysts tallied by Thomson expect third quarter earnings, excluding expenses and other items, to total 18 cents per share.
Net revenue for the nine months ended Sept. 30 were $1.7 billion, up 15 percent over revenue the year earlier period.
For the fourth quarter, Juniper expects revenue of US$590 million to US$595 million, and earnings -- excluding expenses and other items -- of 19 cents per share.
