Emerson Network Power Australia appoints David Scott as new Managing Director

<p>Sydney, Australia (November 13, 2006) – Emerson Network Power Australia has appointed David Scott as its new Managing Director. Scott replaces outgoing MD Bob Daniel, who has returned to the US having accepted another assignment with Emerson.</p>
<p>Scott is the most senior Emerson executive to take the reigns of the company’s Network Power division in Australia, an indication of the importance of the country’s contribution to the fast growing Asia Pacific region.</p>
<p>Canadian by birth, Scott has been with the Emerson Group for 33 years in various roles, including Vice President and General Manager Asia Pacific. His most recent post was Vice President Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He has also held senior posts in Hong Kong, Melbourne and Singapore.</p>
<p>“I am excited to be back in Australia, both professionally and personally - leading this great organisation to continued solid growth,” says Scott. “Bob [Daniel] has done a great job in growing Emerson Network Power’s footprint in the country, to the point where we’re breaking new ground in the areas of research and development, locally engineered and supported products, and expanding our channel partner program. You can expect to see us push hard in each of these areas under my leadership.”</p>
<p>“My personal focus for the next six to twelve months is to build on our foundation and programs. We aim to increase our brand awareness, leverage our market position and continue to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations, and help anticipate and plan for their future requirements. Last year revenues increased 23 per cent and we grew market share in every sector we operate in. The formula is working.”</p>
<p>Scott says he’s keen to meet with industry leaders that are focussed on telecommunication and data centres, computer rooms and other critical spaces.</p>
<p>“Blade servers, VoIP and triple-play are dramatically driving up the requirements for reliable power and extreme cooling solutions, AC and DC requirements, as well as 7x24 mobile engineering services,” he says. “Emerson Network Power has installed and commissioned over 10,000 Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC) in Australia and New Zealand over the last 25 years, as well as the full suite of UPS, DC, monitoring and telecom solutions.”</p>
<p>For the past few years Emerson Network Power has also significantly grown its micro-UPS distribution business, most recently signing LAN Systems as its national IT distributor, and appointing a number of senior executives to grow the partner base.</p>
