Teradata Appoints Senior Customer Business Efficiency Expert

SYDNEY, Australia – Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), has appointed a new senior industry consultant and practice partner. Chris McLean’s primary responsibility will be to help Teradata customers improve their business efficiency through better data management and accessibility.

Based in Australia, Mr. McLean will use his global expertise to assist customers across Asia. Mr. McLean has experience in profitability analytics, financial management and business strategy development to help Teradata customers improve their overall profitability.

According to Julian Beavis, Teradata’s vice president, South Pacific Area, an increasing number of large organisations are looking to apply a more effective methodology for identifying the profitable areas within their businesses.

“It can be very difficult for many large businesses to pinpoint exactly where these revenue opportunities, and associated risks lie, particularly when product lines or departments are supported by disparate information support systems,” said Mr Beavis.

“The first step for any organisation in overcoming this problem is to ensure that they have centralised data management systems. From there, standardised methodologies can be applied to help uncover insights, and therefore opportunity, in customer behaviour. Chris is one of the world’s leading experts in helping organisations manage this fundamental yet complex task.”

Mr. McLean previously worked as an industry consultant for Teradata in Canada. Prior to joining the company in 2003, he held several positions at Bell Mobility including director of channel management and other marketing and business planning roles. Mr. McLean has more than 15 years of experience within the communications and financial services industries and holds a bachelor of arts, Economics and History, from York University.
