Enterprise Content Management (ECM) company, Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL) was today reported as market leader in the ECM software market for both Australia and New Zealand in an industry report published by global growth consulting company, Frost & Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan’s report, ‘Asia Pacific Enterprise Content Management Software Markets – Calendar Year 2005’, presents the most comprehensive research undertaken in the ECM industry in Asia Pacific.

The report reveals that in 2005, the Asia Pacific ECM software market grew by 10% to $USD 102.9 million. Demand for ECM is increasing, with Frost & Sullivan forecasting the size of the Asia Pacific market to almost double by 2012 – at 10% CAGR to reach $USD 202.8 million.

In Australia, Objective held 26% market share, double the market share of its closest competitor. Throughout the year, Objective welcomed many new customers including: in NSW government Central Corporate Services Unit and the Independent Transport Reliability Regulator; in Western Australia the Department of Conservation and Land Management and the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection; and the South Australian Housing Trust.

Objective was also the market share leader in New Zealand.
“Across Australia and New Zealand, we’re witnessing increasing numbers of organisations in the public sector and the banking, finance and insurance industry, implementing ECM to support compliance or regulatory measures and gain control of the proliferation of information that permeates these organisations,” said Mr Raghu Mithran, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

“We expect demand for ECM to continue to grow, and that Australia will overtake Japan as the largest ECM market in Asia Pacific by 2012. Accordingly, vendors such as Objective with some of the most proven solutions in the market are well placed for strong growth,” said Mr Mithran.

Mr Tony Walls, Objective’s CEO Asia Pacific said: “Being recognised as the market leader by independent analysis in both Australia and New Zealand is extremely pleasing.

“Our leadership position in both markets reflects the success of Objective’s business model of establishing local offices in all operational cities to provide customers with a level of service and support that far surpasses the industry norm. The advantages of this model are continually reinforced by our customers in these regions,” said Mr Walls.

While the industry report was based on ECM software revenue only, Objective Corporation provides customers with direct Implementation Services and Product Support.

Objective’s Professional Services department is the largest team of specialist ECM consultants in the Asia Pacific region. With a vast portfolio of successful implementations and experience to draw upon, Objective’s customers and business partners alike are ideally positioned to leverage this deep domain expertise.

“We remain resolutely committed to working closely with our customers to design and implement ECM solutions that deliver tangible business results,” said Mr Walls.
