Network Appliance to Keynote and Demonstrate Unified Storage Solutions at Oracle® OpenWorld 2004 Melbourne

<p>Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), the leader in advanced networked storage solutions for today’s data-intensive enterprise, will educate attendees on its unified storage solutions and showcase how they reduce enterprise customer complexity and improve total cost of ownership (TCO) in Oracle Database and Grid computing environments at Oracle OpenWorld Melbourne.</p>
<p>Network Appliance president Thomas Mendoza will address OpenWorld attendees and deliver a keynote highlighting how technology has evolved to meet the growing challenges business and technology managers face every day. His focus will address how customers can maximise database performance and ensure mission-critical data availability.</p>
<p>In addition, Network Appliance will conduct live, hands-on demonstrations illustrating the advantage of unified storage for increased manageability across iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and Ethernet platforms.</p>

<p>Mendoza will participate in a media only panel session that will discuss the revolution that Oracle10g brings to enterprise computing. This session will address how Oracle10g on Real Application Clusters sets the stage for full-scale Grid computing, allowing a flexible, reliable infrastructure at a low cost. He will discuss how Grid enables “dynamic provisioning”, which means that the enterprise system can adapt to changes in demand without the expensive cost of requiring new hardware or having redundant capacity on standby.</p>
