Citrix Acquires Reflectent Software, Enhances and Extends Its Access Platform

<p>Reflectent Brings New Application Performance Monitoring Capabilities to Citrix Customers to Deliver the “Best Access Experience” for Any Application Type</p>
<p>FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — 09 May 2006 — Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced it has acquired privately held Reflectent Software, Inc., provider of the industry's most widely deployed solutions to monitor the performance of client-server, web and desktop applications from an end-user perspective. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.</p>
<p>Executing on an Aggressive Growth Strategy
With this latest acquisition, following several successful acquisitions over the past two years, Citrix continues to execute on its strategy to move into adjacent, high-growth segments of the Access Infrastructure market.</p>
<p>As a leader in application performance monitoring, Reflectent™ is part of a larger market for Access Management solutions, complementing traditional Systems Management products. Systems Management products focus broadly on the management of systems, devices (components) and processes across the enterprise. Access Management products focus specifically on the “first mile of computing”—the “mile” between the user’s computer screen and the door of the data center—with solutions that observe, measure and control the access experience from an end-user’s perspective.</p>
<p>Strengthening the Citrix Access Platform
The Citrix Access Platform is an end-to-end architecture for managing secure access to applications and information on demand. The Citrix Access Platform enables IT organisations to deliver secure, easy, instant, well-managed access for any user, from any location, to any application, with the fastest performance, highest security, and lowest cost. <p>Reflectent’s Access Management technologies will help manage, monitor, measure and control all dimensions of application access to make more informed business decisions on application consolidation and retirement, capacity planning, service level agreements, and departmental charge-backs across Citrix’s application delivery solutions. This business-level information will provide an immediate benefit for customers delivering web applications through Citrix® NetScaler®, as well as those delivering client-server applications via Citrix Presentation Server™.</p>
<p>System Management tools provide an enterprise view of their servers and networks. Reflectent complements systems management tools by providing a similar view of application performance and availability as experienced by the end-user. As a result, users get real-time visibility needed to manage the delivery, performance, and availability of the mission-critical business applications their end-users require every day. By measuring performance and availability from the user’s perspective, Reflectent allows IT to focus less on managing systems and devices, and more on achieving and communicating business-level goals.</p>

<p>Acquiring the End-user Application Performance Leader
Reflectent, founded in 2000 and based in the Boston area with 31 employees, pioneered the use of end-user metrics to consistently measure actual application performance and facilitate rapid problem isolation and resolution. Its award-winning EdgeSight® product line is the most widely deployed end-user application performance management solution in the Fortune 1000. Reflectent has experienced five consecutive quarters of growth with revenues doubling year-over-year in the first quarter of 2006.</p>
