Dimension Data scores $40 million SA Government deal

Dimension Data has been awarded a managed network services contract worth $40 million over three years under the South Australian Government's Future ICT procurement program.

Under the managed network services contract, Dimension Data will manage monitoring, break/fix services, administration and support for the government's network and firewall infrastructure. A rapid, streamlined rollout of Dimension Data's basic services, combined with additional network services, will provide approximately 200 metropolitan and regional government agencies with greater flexibility regardless of their size. Additional services include intrusion detection and prevention, network and security consulting and advisory services, threat analysis and response and vulnerability assessments.

Dimension Data CEO Steve Nola said as part of the bid the company was able to offer government agencies real-time visibility of their networks and the status of key devices - which proved to be a really influential offering in the final outcome.

"Also, one of the key elements of the contract is that it has been written in terms of ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) for service management Dimension Data's global services centre, which will provide the centralised support for the network, is structured based on ITIL principles, aligning the SA government's service expectations with the services delivered by Dimension Data," he said.

Dimension Data first established an office in Adelaide in 1991.
