Research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan yesterday announced the winners of its inaugural ICT awards.
A team of 20 analysts short-listed companies before the judging at which each category was hotly contested.
The judging panel included MessageLabs APAC VP James Scollay, iinet CEO Michael Malone, AT&T managing director Jeyan Jeevaratnam and Microsoft's public sector director Kevin Ackhurst.
Broadband services provider of the year went to Telstra BigPond while Uecomm won the business communications service provider category.
Frost & Sullivan partner Manoj Menon said Uecomm has achieved 20.5 percent revenue growth in an intensely competitive market.
"Uecomm is very focused on Ethernet solutions and has been able to differentiate itself effectively in a tough market," Menon said.
Companies were evaluated on market performance indicators such as revenue growth, market share, leadership in product innovation, breadth of products and solutions, major customer acquisitions, business and marketing strategy.

The managed telephony service provider category was a very competitive area with the award going to Commander Communications.
Menon said Commander has successfully tapped into the SMB market achieving 20 percent revenue growth.
Dimension Data won converged communications integrator of the year while the communications equipment vendor category went to Cisco Systems.
Menon said Cisco has managed to achieve the highest growth in the market, defining some segments with leading technologies.
TeleTech won contact centre outsourcing provider of the year while Genesys Conferencing was an award recipient for conferencing and collaboration.
The final category, hosted application vendor of the year, went to Salesforce.com.
Not only did Salesforce.com pioneer hosted CRM, Menon said, but the company has managed to maintain its leadership position and extend its customer base utilizing aggressive marketing strategies.
Winners were presented with their awards at a gala event held on March 30 which was sponsored by IT services firm Tech Mahindra.
