NEC Australia launches its first prepaid handset – the N343i

 • 17 March, 2006 10:37

In response to consumer demand for stylish and functional prepaid handsets, NEC has announced the release of the super sexy i-mode® enabled N343i, NEC’s first prepaid mobile phone.

The N343i is arguably the best looking prepaid handset yet, and allows ‘prepayers’ to avoid ‘bill shock’ without sacrificing their personal sense of style.

Hot on the heels of the launch of the N412i, the world’s slimmest mobile phone, the new N343i reinforces NEC’s position as a style leader in the mobile phone category. Reminiscent of the iconic iPod, the N343i features a cutting edge design, with white face and stainless steel finish.

Kris Tsukuda, General Manager, NEC Australia Mobile Terminals Marketing Division comments that “consumers today are demanding prepaid handsets with superior form and function. Our solution is the N343i, which combined with its predecessor, the N342i, has already sold over one million handsets around the world.”

Jam-packed with features, the sleek new N343i delivers everything you’ll ever need in a mobile. The N343i has a built in VGA camera with self-timer and special effects, a full colour screen, speakerphone, handsfree unit, 6.25 days of battery standby time, polyphonic ringtones, a personal organiser and web and email capabilities.

Controlling spend on voice calls whilst looking good is not the only benefit of the N343i. The new handset is Telstra i-mode® compatible - bringing a world of exciting content right to users’ fingertips.

Prepaying for i-mode® means consumers can visit and download over 200 i-mode® sites, including news, maps, movie and gig guides, restaurants, sports, shopping, ringtones, games and much more – with control over how much they spend.

The new N343i prepaid handset from NEC is the perfect choice for style savvy and budget conscious consumers.

The N343i retails for $179 plus $10 for the prepaid starter kit, which includes $10 worth of calls. The N343i is available from Telstra stores and Telstra Dealers nationally.

i-mode® and the i-mode® logo are registered trademarks of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in Japan and other countries.
