First Storage Networking User Group Established in Australia

<p>Sydney Australia – March 17, 2006 - SNIA ANZ, in conjunction with the University of California, San Diego's StorageNetworking.org Initiative (http://www.StorageNetworking.org), is pleased to invite you to participate in the newly established Australia Storage Networking User Group (SNUG). The Australia SNUG, which will be affiliated with
StorageNetworking.org's global community of storage professionals and supported by SNIA ANZ, will plan and conduct quarterly meetings that enable storage professionals to network with their peers and learn from knowledge experts in a vendor-neutral, education-focused environment. SNUG meetings are open to all, and there are no membership dues.</p>
<p>The inaugural meeting of the Australia SNUG is scheduled for this coming March 22nd 2006, at Griffith University in Brisbane (go to http://www.storagenetworking.org/User_Groups/snug_profile.asp?id=171 for meeting details and to join the SNUG mailing list). Future quarterly meetings will be planned for other metropolitan areas, with an annual meeting being held in conjunction with Storage Networking World (SNW) Australia. We encourage you to join the Australia SNUG mailing list so that you can stay up to date on SNUG activities that may be coming to your area.</p>
<p>Now Recruiting SNUG Founders</p>
<p>The Australia SNUG is actively recruiting additional founders from all areas of the continent. SNUG founders help to plan and moderate meetings, in conjunction with the SNUG Bylaws (http://www.storagenetworking.org/User_Groups/pdfs/snug_charter_bylaws.pdf). SNUG founders are recognized on the SNUG web page and receive a founder’s shirt.</p>

In accordance with the bylaws, storage system development company representatives are excluded from being SNUG founders.</p>

<p>StorageNetworking.org is a university-based, non-profit initiative created and managed by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Information Storage Industry Center (ISIC) at the University of California, San Diego. Its mission is to address the educational needs of data storage technology users.
