National ICT Australia (NICTA) today announced it has extended CEO David Skellern's contract for a further three years.
Dr Skellern took on the role of NICTA CEO in May 2005.
NICTA chairman Neville Stevens AO, said following a review the board didn't hesitate extending the appointment as Skellern has received such a "favourable reaction from the ICT sector in such a short period".
"NICTA and Australia are very fortunate to have the dedication of one of Australia's most respected researchers and entrepreneurs," he said. Skellern said his time at NICTA has renewed his belief in Australia's ICT future.
"In the time I have been involved in NICTA I have seen the development of a vibrant and dynamic organization. We are harnessing the best ICT talent, to build Australia's ICT capabilities," Skellern said.
"Over the next three years I plan to oversee the first phase of the commercialization of some very exciting research, further establish Australia's ICT research on the global stage, and continue to build a dynamic culture where people seek to work."
