E-Ticketing for Australian businesses

Australian business travel agent, SBT Business Travel Solutions has designed and delivered an online reservations system allowing local business travelers to make full ticketing transactions via the Internet.

Called Citros, the online ticketing system has real-time links to Sabre Pacific, a global travel reservation system, which can "instantly confirm domestic airline bookings by credit card, invoice or other pre-arranged payment method," officials said.

According to officials, a feature of the Citros system is the functionality combining management reporting tools with airline, hotel and rental car reservations features. Officials said Citros is the world's first online travel reservation system to provide "reporting tools that (allow) management to capture information and cut it any way to see where each dollar is being spent."

Other features of the system include daily updated fares, lowest rates for available seats, rooms or cars, and class coding.

According to officials, Citros is already being used in Australia by major companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Lincolc Electric, Nine Network, Nokia, and Westinghouse. Travel industry players in Asia and elsewhere are also considering the system, officials said.
