Alcatel appoints Ric Clark as Chief Technology Officer for Australasia

<p>Alcatel today announced that Ric Clark has been appointed Chief Technology Officer for Australasia, effective January 9, 2006.</p>
<p>Based in Melbourne, Mr. Clark will be responsible for strategic marketing and direction on the development of Alcatel’s products and services in the Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea markets, ensuring that the solutions provided to Alcatel’s customers continue to deliver real business value.</p>
<p>With more than 20 years experience in telecommunications, Mr. Clark has held a number of senior positions in the industry before joining Alcatel. His most recent role was at NICTA, where he held the role of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for NICTA's operations with a particular focus on commercialisation and intellectual property activities, and leads its industry development and outreach program.</p>
<p>Prior to that Mr. Clark was Managing Director of Ericsson’s Research and Development company, Ericsson Asia Pacific Lab Australia. He has also acted as a Director on several ICT start-ups.</p>
