NCR Rolls Out More than 260 New Personas 77 ATMs for ANZ in Record Time at Caltex Service Stations

New Preferred Supplier Agreement key to rollout and to future ANZ projects

SYDNEY – NCR Corporation’s (NYSE: NCR) Financial Solutions Division (FSD) has worked with ANZ to rollout in extremely quick time a network of more than 260 Personas™ 77 automated teller machines (ATM) at Caltex service stations around Australia.

A project of this scale normally takes place over a year, but, as part of a new Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) between ANZ and NCR, the installation of the ATMs was completed in just three months – on time and within budget. It involved replacement of National Australia Bank ATMs with ANZ ATMs.

The total PSA is worth in excess of $20 million over three years. This complements the existing Managed Services agreement between ANZ and NCR’s Worldwide Customer Services (WCS) division, worth more than $28 million over three years.

Commenting on the project, Ross Checkley, Vice President for NCR’s FSD, South Pacific Area, said: “When you consider the logistics of shipping more than 260 ATMs around the country and completing installation and hook-up to the ANZ network, and replacing the NAB machines with minimum downtime in such a record time, this is a fantastic achievement.

“It justifies the faith ANZ has in NCR’s ability to deliver not just best-in-class product, but the services, maintenance and support that goes with this, hence the new PSA.”

“We have been pleased with the professionalism shown by NCR in managing the Caltex rollout,’’ stated Dominic White, Head of ATM Banking at ANZ. “Our arrangement with NCR has enabled us to rollout more ATMs in one month than the bank previously was able to achieve in a year.

“Our relationship with NCR has been long and successful. This was enhanced in 2001 when we first entered into the agreement for NCR to manage the operation of our network. It seemed logical for us to extend this relationship to include the supply and installation of all new and replacement ATMs in ANZ’s fleet.”

"The initial roll out of more than 260 ATMs was part of an ongoing relationship with Caltex which will result in further ATMs being installed over time,” Mr White said.

“ANZ ATMs at Caltex locations have increased the transactions per ATM at these sites dramatically since installation. This has driven more customers into Caltex stores and increased financial returns to both Caltex and ANZ"
