Borland Hires Process Expert David Christensen

<p>Sydney, Australia — November 17, 2005 — Borland Software Corporation, the global leader for Software Delivery Optimisation, today announced the appointment of David Christensen as Process Improvement Director, Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>Based in Wellington, New Zealand, David will be responsible for driving Asia Pacific-wide initiatives for customers in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), IT outsourcing, organisational change management, strategic planning, quality assurance, process capability assessment, project management and training IT staff in new ways of working in both software and service areas.</p>
<p>David is authorised by the Software Engineering Institute as a Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Lead Assessor and CMMI Lead Appraiser. In 1991 he was appointed the first non-US based SEI (Software Engineering Institute) CMM Lead Assessor.</p>

<p>A frequent presenter at software process improvement conferences around the world, David has held senior management positions in both EDS and IBM Global Services in Europe and New Zealand overseeing process transformation activities in organisations ranging from 20 to over 1500 software engineering and IT services staff. Most recently, he was CEO at One Market – a company he founded in 2001.</p>
<p>In January 2003, in recognition of his work with the Chinese Software Industry, he was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing. This appointment has been extended until mid 2007 and David has accepted new responsibilities within the Academy.</p>
