Letter: Spread the load

With the federal government unable to source staff in Canberra (September 14, p1 Skills crisis holds feds hostage), why doesn't it move more projects to the other states (South Australia in particular) and spread the work load, especially in times of high demand?

Canberra has an abundance of IT projects on hold and with good communications technology should be able to conduct projects away from the national Capital.

There's more available IT staff interstate and the overall costs of conducting business are lower as well.
