Letter: An exercise too late

So Computerworld decides to rate the vendors now after the horse has bolted (Users rate vendors on quality, performance.) This is an exercise that should have been done 10 years ago when it would have really made a difference. There have been a lot of changes during this time and one of them is vendor attitudes; they are much more willing to partner with customers and to take a much more active role in an organization's IT operations. This wasn't always the case when there was little accountability for spending and plenty of waste. It's unfortunate that we all had to learn the hard way. Name and address supplied
