SYDNEY, Australia – Optima Technology Solutions (ASX:OPI), the leading Australian computer manufacturer, has launched a new business-class desktop computer featuring Intel’s Active Management Technology (AMT) for fast and effective IT platform management.

The Optima WorkPro DC Series is one of the first PCs on the market with the new Intel technology, which enables corporate IT departments to remotely discover, heal and protect their networked computing assets. AMT allows for easier, faster and more accurate inventory management, tracking out-of-band systems even if they have crashed or powered down. It allows IT teams to remotely heal systems after operating system failures, with alert and event logging helping to detect problems and quickly reduce downtime. The embedded solution also helps to protect a network by making it easier to keep software and virus protection consistent and up-to-date across the enterprise.

“We are one of the first vendors to locally release a PC with Active Management Technology, providing businesses with a new range of comprehensive remote diagnostics, management and patching capabilities,” said Joshua Carr, Desktop Product Manager, Optima. “With features like this and a Stable Image Platform Program for the deployment of unvarying PC hardware configurations, the WorkPro DC has been designed from the ground up to deliver a superior and reliable performance in a demanding business environment.”

The Optima WorkPro DC is based on the Intel 945G Express Chipset that delivers outstanding system performance through a range of high-bandwidth interfaces such as dual-channel DDR2 memory and 1066/800 MHz system bus. The chipset includes the latest Intel GMA 950 graphics core, and also supports the new Intel Pentium D Dual Core processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, providing users with a new range of innovative features and business benefits.

“With superior integrated graphics capabilities, Intel Gigabit LAN, flexible six-channel audio and a selection of firewire and USB ports, the WorkPro DC provides fantastic connectivity for the best digital desktop experience,” said Carr.

Offering businesses greater security and reliability, the WorkPro DC features a Trusted Platform Module that uses robust hardware encryption to protect the PC against software-based attacks. With integrated RAID capability, the new PC is also able to provide improved data storage and protection.

Intel Precision Cooling Technology and Intel Speedstep combine to offer dynamic cooling, providing better thermals, power savings and improved acoustic levels.

The Optima WorkPro DC Series PC (RRP: $2,025 for a Dual Core CPU and 17-inch LCD) is available in a micro tower, micro desktop and small form factor case. It comes with a three-year warranty and is available throughout Australia from Optima and its value-added resellers.
