Sprint and Avaya this week said they will collaborate on development and delivery of hosted VoIP wireline and wireless services for the North American marketplace.
Under the agreement, the companies will jointly develop, market and support CPE- and network-based VoIP services for business customers. Sprint will offer customers Avaya's portfolio of hosted IP communications applications, including IP Telephony, Wireless Integration and Messaging.
Sprint will supply customers with hosted IP telephony and wireless services and applications on a per-seat, per-month basis.
The first service the companies will deliver will be Sprint Hosted Messaging, expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2005. That will be followed in 2006 by Hosted IP Telephony and Wireless Integration services.
Sprint Hosted Messaging is a managed service that provides voice messaging functions on a per-seat, per-month basis. It will be targeted at companies migrating to IP telephony or upgrading existing messaging systems.
Sprint did not disclose pricing for the service.
