More attendees expected at Cisco Networkers

Networking professionals and resellers keen to get a grasp on the latest technologies and training courses will be flocking to Queensland next month for this year's ANZ Cisco Networkers Conference.

The event is titled "Powering the network: powering you," and is being held at the Gold Coast Convention centre from September 19-22.

"The event serves as one of the most important elements of the overall Cisco networking training calendar," Cisco's Networkers program manager, Sarah Hooper, said.

Aimed specifically at end-users of Cisco's networking systems, the industry conference will include a number of presentations to keep networking professionals up to date with the latest technologies and training applications.

"Each year we have many resellers attending as both exhibitors and delegates," Hooper said. "It's great for them because they get access to hundreds of end-user attendees who are looking for direction on the latest trends in networking."

Keynote speakers at the conference include Cisco managing director, Ross Fowler, security vice-president, Richard Palmer, and the Matrix visual effects master, John Gaeta.

The conference will also feature 80 training sessions spanning three days.

"The training sessions will be of great assistance to network communications managers, IT managers, solutions architects, network consultants and others," Hooper said.

"We will also be expanding the training platform to include remote labs so end-users can get some hands-on experience."

Last year's conference attracted more than 900 paying attendees, but those numbers have already jumped to more than 1200 for this year's event, Hooper said.

Registered attendees will receive a one-year free subscription to Networkers Online which has video and audio archives of all the US Networkers sessions and keynotes.

Pricing for the event can be found on the Networkers registration site at http://www.cisco.com/anz/learning/networkers2005/.
