MapInfo and Queensland Transport win the 2005 Queensland Spatial Excellence Award for Industry and Entrepreneurship

<p>SYDNEY, Australia—Aug. 18, 2005 — MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS), the leading global provider of Location Intelligence solutions, together with Queensland Transport have been recognised for their achievements in the Queensland Transport School Transport Top Up Project at the recent Queensland Spatial Excellence Awards Gala Dinner.</p>
<p>Presented with the Industry and Entrepreneurship Award, MapInfo worked with Queensland Transport to develop a web-based mapping solution for TransLink's school bus operators to calculate transport assistance eligibility and determine the fare. TransLink is the central agency responsible for coordinating the integration of the south-east Queensland Public Transport system.</p>
<p>The web-based MapInfo solution, based on the Envinsa® location intelligence platform, enables public and private transport providers to determine eligibility for government-funded assistance accurately and quickly, based on a student’s home address, distance to their closest school and distance to their chosen school.</p>
