Local Distribution Gives Aruba Foundation for Rapid Growth in Australian Market

Sydney, Tuesday, August 2, 2005 – Wireless networking vendor, Aruba, has appointed Zircon to be its distributor in Australia. The appointment signals Aruba’s intention to significantly expand its footprint in the Australian market.

Aruba has had a local presence since early 2005. The addition of Zircon as a distributor signifies the next chapter in a plan to further advance Aruba’s presence in Australia.

The agreement will see Zircon assume responsibility for enterprise channel sales, including pre-sales, sales and support, as well as training and marketing initiatives.

Zircon has been appointed because of its true ability to add value and move quickly in response to market needs and opportunities. It will not only provide all the necessary tools for channel partners, but also supplement Aruba’s presence, providing extra on-the-ground representation.

“Zircon’s business style is extremely complementary with Aruba’s,” said Mark Robards, vice president, Asia-Pacific, Aruba.

“Zircon’s appointment is critical to Aruba’s growth locally. We have considerable opportunities in the market, and as the wireless arena continues to grow, Aruba and Zircon are ideally positioned to benefit. Wireless is now a proven technology, and Aruba is leading the way as the only company offering a modular mobility system that provides centralized control of all access, security and mobility services.”

Gwen John, managing director of Zircon said, “Securing distribution for Aruba in Australia is a positive step for Zircon. Aruba’s award-winning enterprise mobility systems are ideal for generating new channel business as well as driving revenue in existing accounts.

“Aruba is strategically positioned at the intersection of the wireless LAN and security segments, and their secure WLAN solution is widely regarded as best-in-class for enabling a mobile enterprise. Its recent wins with leading educational institutions, healthcare providers, and software and technology firms have garnered a great deal of attention. The announcement last month of the world’s largest software company selecting Aruba to provide its next-generation wireless LAN infrastructure further validated Aruba’s centralised architecture and industry-leading technology.”

For Zircon and its resellers, Aruba is completely channel-focused and has a well-established program that provides channel partners excellent margins, technical certification programs, pre-sales and post-sales support, demo units and joint marketing programs and collateral. Zircon is committed to helping resellers capitalise on the rapidly growing wireless market segment, enabling new revenue streams.
