Mitsubishi Electric expands it’s presence in the security industry

SYDNEY July 27th, 2005 – Mitsubishi Electric, inventors of the VHS time-lapse VCR in 1982 and a world leader in CCTV recorders today announced the Australian availability of four new security surveillance products with the release of its Digital Video Recorder (DVR) range – the DX-NT400E, DX-TL950E, DX-TL2500E and DX-TL5000E.

Mitsubishi Electric’s range of DVRs are designed to deliver the best in Digital Video Recording. Each product provides high-resolution recording, versatile monitoring and recording functions, network connectivity, ease of use and most importantly, reliability - crucial when used as indisputable evidence. Mitsubishi Electric designs and manufactures their own hardware, ensuring that Mitsubishi Electric DVRs are immune from virus attacks and the ready availability of spare parts. The Operating System is embedded in the hardware in case of Hard Drive failure. This allows faulty Hard Drives to be easily identified, replaced in the field and keeps equipment downtime to an absolute minimum.

Ideal for use in diverse industries such as financial, retail, logistics and corporate markets, Mitsubishi Electric security products can be seen in various banking and financial institutions, building management companies, warehouse and distribution companies, service stations, convenience stores, supermarket chains, public institutions, government departments, control towers, military facilities and police stations around the world.

Mitsubishi Electric Australia aims to meet the increasing demand for professional-grade digital video surveillance systems in the Australian market and build on its 23 years’ experience in security products.

“The security industry is one of Australia’s fastest growing sectors. The growth of the industry has seen an ongoing evolution in technology with the expansion of new products and services.” said Richard Freggi, General Manager of the Digital Electronics Division, Mitsubishi Electric Australia. “We already provide analogue video recorders to the security market, so it was a natural progression in supplying the DVR range".
