<p>Provides “Instant Center of Excellence” for IT Governance Through Mercury Managed Services</p>
<p>Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: MERQ), the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO), announced the Mercury IT Governance Center™ 6.0 and Mercury Managed Services for IT Governance to enable CIOs and IT executives to manage the priorities, processes, and people of IT.</p>
<p>The Mercury IT Governance Center 6.0 offering provides an enhanced set of software applications and best practices, an executive dashboard, and an enterprise foundation. The Mercury IT Governance Center 6.0 offering includes more than a dozen new features and enhancements that enable IT organizations to automate and manage IT business processes from demand through production. The new Mercury Managed Services offering includes hosted Mercury IT Governance software delivered over the Internet, plus a team of dedicated service professionals to help customers rapidly execute IT Governance initiatives.</p>
<p>The Mercury IT Governance Center 6.0 offering helps enable IT executives to:
• Gain control and visibility over IT costs, risks, resources, and initiatives through a single system of record for IT;
• Achieve “sustainable compliance” by establishing a repeatable, automated approach to managing ongoing compliance mandates – enabling the automation of compliance controls, assessment processes and business process changes;
• Run IT like a business by enabling IT and line of business executives to work together and make strategic tradeoffs over IT priorities and objectives – centralizing critical IT initiatives such as demand management, project portfolio management, and change management;
• Provide a new set of product enhancements including: advanced what-if scenario planning, time management features, multi-currency and regional calendar support, SOP 98-1 enforcement capabilities, and robust document management through Documentum;
• Address compliance regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and support quality programs and process control frameworks such as Six-Sigma, CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library), ISO-9000, and COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technologies).</p>
<p>“Industry changes such as digital content and digital video recorders require us to be innovative in the way we do business and how we leverage IT to deliver the best possible service to our customers,” said Robert Cribben, IT manager, Methods and Measurements Group, Nielsen Media Research. “The Mercury IT Governance Center 6.0 offering enables Nielsen Media Research to govern and prioritize how we deploy our IT resources to meet customer demand for our media research services."</p>
<p>“Mercury is committed to helping customers tackle their biggest IT Governance challenges – controlling IT cost and risk, meeting compliance requirements, and aligning IT with the business,” said Graham Sowden, Managing Director of Mercury in Australia. “Delivering our IT Governance offerings through Mercury Managed Services is a significant differentiator for our customers. Mercury customers can tap into our ‘instant center of excellence’ for IT Governance without any additional infrastructure costs.”</p>
<p>Mercury Managed Services for IT Governance
Mercury Managed Services for IT Governance enables customers to access Mercury IT Governance software as a hosted service over the Internet and leverage a team of Mercury IT Governance service professionals. This combination of hosted software and expertise enables customers to:
• Get started immediately without having to ramp up internal expertise or purchase additional infrastructure;
• Mitigate risks and accelerate time to value by leveraging Mercury’s expertise – Mercury service professionals help customers get started, build their skills, and if desired, take their deployment in-house, delivering the best mix of outsourced value and skill building;
• Gain flexibility to evolve from project management tools to Mercury’s full set of enterprise IT Governance offerings including demand management, portfolio management, time and financial management, and change management.</p>
<p>“Companies are looking for the flexibility to choose how they want their software delivered based on risk, cost, and expertise,” said Theresa Lanowitz, research director at Gartner, Inc. “Many IT organizations understand that they do not have the expertise to handle every new IT standard, technology, and compliance issue – so they turn to managed service offerings that can fill critical gaps in expertise and infrastructure.”</p>
