Optima targets education sector with Microsoft

 • 02 May, 2005 09:14

SYDNEY, Australia - Optima Technology Solutions (ASX:OPI), the leading Australian computer manufacturer, is ramping up its focus on the education market, traveling around Australia with the Microsoft Education Roadshow to deliver its latest range of computing solutions to local schools and universities.

Throughout May the Microsoft Education Roadshow will visit each capital city in the country, providing teachers and IT professionals in the education sector with the tools they need to understand and maximise their IT infrastructure. As an event partner, Optima will be present at various roadshow locations with its new selection of desktops and notebooks that have been customised to meet the requirements of the Australian education environment.

At the forefront of the Optima showcase will be its innovative 'Lab-in-a-Box' solution, which has been specifically designed to meet the growing needs of primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Lab-in-a-Box is a portable trolley that consists of ten Optima Prolite notebooks, wireless access points and print servers. By combining all of these products into the one secure unit, Optima gives educational institutions the ability to easily share IT resources between classrooms and better integrate learning technologies into teaching practices. Schools can also safeguard their investment against theft, a major concern in the education sector, as the trolley can be locked away when not in use.

Also included in the Optima portfolio will be a selection of durable LCD monitors featuring a protective glass panel, which has been developed to safeguard the unit against damage and prolong the life of the PC.

If attendees are unable to view either of these products at their roadshow location, they can receive further information about the solutions by contacting Optima on: 1300 730 766.
