Survey confirms businesses are betting on VoIP

Zultys finds 60% of businesses plan to deploy VoIP equipment in the next six months

Sydney, Australia, 27 April 2005 – Zultys Technologies today announced the results of an online survey, showing 60% of businesses who responded are either currently deploying or seriously considering new voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) systems in the next six months. In line with recent market analysis from IDC, the respondents showed 25% were already in deployment and another 35% are planning to deploy this year.

“These survey results reflect the growth we have seen over the past two quarters”, says Tony Warhurst, director of business development, Oceania at Zultys. “A lot of the deployments are coming from the SMB market, as VoIP is allowing them to play with much larger companies in terms of customer service. These figures also tell us that the growth we are predicting for next quarter will be pretty much on target.

“We’ve been looking at the market and watching companies slowly identify the differences in technologies such as that between true, open standards, IP PABX systems and those of hybrid systems. The fact that companies are now beginning to differentiate between these products tells us we are on the right track.”

These fresh survey results also reinforce IDC’s predictions, made in March for projected growth in the IP telephony market. Zultys will be running a number of surveys during 2005 on its website “The IP Telephony Zone” in conjunction with IDG Communications [http://www.computerworld.com.au].
