German business software vendor SAP is offering a helping hand to companies outsourcing administrative processes with the launch of a new support program.
The business process outsourcing program, called BPO Services Powered by SAP, was announced Tuesday in conjunction with HRO World, a human resources and outsourcing event that is running in New York City from April 12 to 14.
As part of the program, SAP will help set up and operate BPO delivery platforms in cooperation with service providers including Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), ADP, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and LogicaCMG.
"We will provide dedicated resources from the various product groups," said SAP spokesman Markus Berner.
The BPO platforms, based on SAP applications, allow companies to lower risk, cut operation costs and standardize business processes, according Berner.
SAP's services-oriented architecture, provided through its NetWeaver application and integration platform, makes it easier for companies to move non-core business processes outside the enterprise while retaining control of information and workflows in a tightly integrated way, the company said.
