EMC To Showcase Solutions Aimed At ILM

<p>EMC TO SHOWCASE SOLUTIONS AIMED AT ILM</p>
<p>SYDNEY, Australia, April 13, 2005 – EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage and management, this week will showcase a variety of solutions designed to help customers implement information lifecycle management (ILM) strategies.</p>
<p>The solutions to be presented at the Spring 2005 Storage Networking World in Phoenix, Arizona include:</p>
<p>EMC will demonstrate its new storage virtualisation solution, code-named EMC Storage Router, moving data across both EMC and third-party storage devices.
EMC will conduct interoperability demonstrations of EMC Symmetrix® DMX™ 1000, EMC CLARiiON® Disk Library and the native iSCSI features of EMC CLARiiON CX500i.
VMware will conduct a virtual infrastructure demonstration featuring VMware® VMotion™ technology that migrates a running virtual system to a different physical server connected to an EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) without service interruption. VMotion makes it possible for IT organizations to provide zero-downtime maintenance and continuous workload consolidation without impacting user services.</p>
<p>Data Management & Data Protection</p>
<p>In this two-part theme area, EMC will demonstrate EMC DiskXtender® 2000™ and EMC Legato® NetWorker™.</p>
<p>EMC will demonstrate the new EMC ControlCenter™ SAN Advisor™ and the complete ControlCenter family of storage management software.
EMC will demonstrate ControlCenter support of the SNIA Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) by discovering Symmetrix, CLARiiON, HDS, IBM, Engenio, SUN and other third-party storage arrays.
EMC will also have SMI-S V1.1 demonstrations for Celerra and iSCSI interfaces for Symmetrix and CLARiiON.</p>
<p>Regulatory Compliance and Storage Security</p>
<p>EMC will demonstrate EMC Centera™ with DiskExtender software for files requiring long retention periods and archiving to meet compliance objectives.</p>
