This article, Testing out Linux on the desktop, which appeared in Computerworld Australia online April 30, 2004, is great.
So many people feel it is a 'Linux or not Linux' proposition. Why not have the best of both worlds? I have a client that just told me they have over 50 percent of their employees that have too much access on the local machines. I asked if they wanted to lessen the TCO of those machines at the same time as they tighten control. They said yes, and so we are integrating Linux with Open Office on half the machines. The other half that still need or think they need XP will stay XP and co-exist.
