Macquarie Corporate opens Canberra base

IT Minister Daryl Williams today officially opened Macquarie Corporate Telecommunications’ new offices in Canberra.

It is the only Australian-owned organization and carrier that has DSD gateway certification, a security standard required to provide Internet gateway services to Commonwealth departments and agencies, according to a company spokesman.

Since attaining certification eight months ago, Macquarie has been in negotiations with several federal government agencies, including the minister's IT department to deliver Internet Protocol Virtual Private Networks (IPVPNs) and data services.

It currently provides a range of managed services including intrusion detection, firewall, protected gateway and content filtering out of its own hosting facility.
