Cincom launches significant CONTROL, Priority upgrades at National Manufacturing Week 2004

<p>New platforms provide maximum flexibility; focus on increased productivity</p>
<p>(March 25, 2004) (Sydney, Australia) – Cincom will officially launch the latest versions of its advanced manufacturing software systems at National Manufacturing Week in Sydney, June 1 to 4. The upgrades increase interoperability with the most common platforms and add user-friendly features that offer leading-edge levels of productivity and profitability for manufacturers.</p>
<p>The latest version of CONTROL™ enterprise management software is now available on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform.</p>
<p>“CONTROL now offers unparalleled reduction in total cost of ownership when compared with other manufacturing enterprise applications and server platforms,” commented Paul Hargreaves, Managing Director, Cincom Australia.</p>
<p>Cincom's CONTROL system also operates on Microsoft® Windows NT® Server 4.0 and UNIX platforms, which will still be available to customers.</p>
<p>"Today's customers want choices, but they also have to work within the bounds of their current technology investments,” said Hargreaves. “In a manufacturing setting, the pairing of our enterprise management system with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 enables new levels in system interoperability and scalability, matched with a lower total cost of ownership."</p>
<p>Cincom also recently announced the availability of its Environ™ technology for Microsoft BizTalk® Server 2004. A unified solution that can automate business processes and integrate a company's business systems, Cincom's Environ – a foundational technology included with the 2000 series of CONTROL software - works seamlessly with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004. The combination enables manufacturers to integrate disparate systems with more than 800 out-of-box Cincom enterprise resource planning (ERP) actions and manufacturing processes.</p>
<p>“Cincom's Environ ‘event-enabled environment’ addresses the needs of manufacturers that typically have business processes spanning multiple systems of record, many technical architectures, and users encompassing employees, customers, suppliers and partners,” said Hargreaves. “Orchestrating these processes results in the reduction and elimination of costly and error-prone manual steps.”</p>
<p>Another official launch for National Manufacturing Week is Priority™ Version 10.1, which improves further on Version 10. Released in September last year, Priority Version 10 included 110 new features to enable manufacturers to provide an improved service to their customers and achieve improved productivity of their own operations through new on-line and communications capabilities.</p>
<p>Interoperability is the chief enhancement of Priority Version 10.1. The solution, which covers all aspects of a manufacturer’s business including sales, planning and scheduling, engineering, purchasing, inventory control, production, project management, human resources, costing and financial management, is now available for the first time on Microsoft SQL Server. This is in addition to the Cincom proprietary database, Tabula, and Oracle, on which the ERP was previously able to operate.</p>
<p>“Our Priority customers now have a choice of platforms depending on their technology preference, existing systems, budget and level of IT expertise,” said Hargreaves.</p>
<p>“Navigation is another new feature. Priority has always been easy to move around in, and drill down into for information, but the new version includes a trail at the top of the menu listing the modules and fields the user has already drilled through, making it even easier to know where you are in the system at all times,” he said. “Plus, new colours and menu options mean individuals can customise the interface according to their own preferences.”</p>
