The latest market information on this emerging technology was published by industry analyst firms InfoTech and Synergy Research Group, reflecting the U.S. and worldwide markets, respectively.
The research, compiled for the first calendar quarter of 2003, represents total IP line shipments, a key metric of measuring IP telephony leadership in the enterprise telephony market. According to the InfoTech report, InfoTrack for Enterprise Communications, Avaya’s U.S. market share in IP telephony is 22 percent, representing an increase of four percentage points over the final quarter of 2002. In the worldwide arena, according to the Synergy Research Group report Enterprise VoIP Worldwide Market Shares*, Avaya leads with a 22 percent share of the total enterprise IP telephony market.
“These reports are clear evidence that as more organisations invest in IP telephony to gain immediate business benefits, they are choosing Avaya,” said Don Peterson, Chairman and CEO of Avaya. “With communications software, systems and services that are unmatched in the industry, Avaya is well-positioned to provide businesses of any size with the IP telephony strategy they need to evolve their network for greater productivity, cost-savings and workforce mobility.”
