Sausage Software last week announced it has formally appointed IHS Australia (IHS) as a reseller for the products and services of its Open Trade Network (OTN).
IHS will provide Sausage with an established link to the defence industry and Australian Defence Force, which is a major market for OTN's specialist trade hub.
According to Sausage director Wayne Bos, Sausage had already been working with IHS, which is currently developing the Online Defence Industry Network (ODIN). This is described as a Web portal for the Department of Defence (DoD) containing a listing of over 5600 defence industry related companies, a listing that is claimed will grow to 30,000 over the next few months.
Bos said the deal represents the first reseller agreement signed for OTN since its acquisition earlier this year.
As a reseller, HIS will be able to provide the buyer and seller modules, as well as access to the network. The target market will include vendors of products from submarines to paper clips, as well as purchasing departments linked to the defence industry," Bos claimed.
"The integration of OTN by IHS into the defence industry's own portal will position us to provide our online trade and tendering solution to more than 30,000 SMEs. The reseller arrangement opens up the defence sector to Sausage's total eCommerce offering," he added.
Boss described the OTN e-commerce offering as an online solution to the tendering process, linking buyers with sellers and facilitating local, national and global transactions across more than 2000 supplier categories.
IHS managing director Katie Blake said: "The inclusion of OTN in the ODIN portal positions the network as a comprehensive information and communication system for the defence industry."
