Robust Features Empower Users With Illustrative Insights Into Enterprise Business Intelligence Information

Sydney – 10 September, 2003 – Information Builders, the leader in enterprise business intelligence (BI) and real-time Web reporting, today announced the enhancement of the company's flagship product, WebFOCUS, with advanced data-visualisation capabilities. Advanced data visualisation enables users to make more sense of their corporate data through intuitive representation with advanced visual features. These new capabilities extend WebFOCUS' existing graphical offerings with a variety of compelling visual components for performing real-time analysis from virtually any enterprise data source using WebFOCUS.

These enhanced features have been integrated with the WebFOCUS Analyst Console, a robust solution that provides powerful, real-time visualisation capabilities. With the WebFOCUS Analyst Console, users at all levels can easily perform intuitive, highly interactive, graphical analysis using a wide variety of advanced visualisation mechanisms and components. The console enables users to easily spot trends, patterns, anomalies, and exceptions hidden in large data sets through illustrative, multidimensional representations. Now, users have the ability to turn raw data into a variety of visually perceptive images such as bar charts, counts, histograms, scatterplots, multiscapes, data constellations, etc.

All of the visual components in the WebFOCUS Analyst Console are dynamically connected and are updated when explored – making data even more meaningful to users. This highly interactive capability allows users to dynamically change visualisation on the fly by selecting, zooming, pivoting, or re-coloring charts while uncovering new relationships within their data. Data visualisation also dramatically enriches query, discovery, and analysis capabilities through representations that are more powerful than simple text, tables, and graphs. Now every individual within the organisation will be empowered with more decision-support based on the visual interpretation of mission-critical data.

"Standard business intelligence functionality like reporting, query, and OLAP are great for answering questions when you know what to ask. WebFOCUS' new data-visualisation functionality will allow analysts to uncover issues hidden in the data that could not normally be found," said Jon Piercey, Country Manager for Information Builders Australia. "Through data visualisation, WebFOCUS is changing the face of data. The ability to see essential corporate data in revolutionary and innovative ways will undoubtedly bring more insight to every WebFOCUS customer."
These capabilities will be delivered through a partnership between Information Builders and ADVIZOR Solutions, Inc. (ASI). ADVIZOR Solutions, Inc. is a world-class provider of cutting-edge interactive data-visualisation software.

"This integration makes sense. ADVIZOR Solution's goal has always been to present enterprise data in the most graphically stimulating and intuitive ways possible and WebFOCUS has unparalleled data-access capabilities – allowing companies to access virtually any type of information source," said Dan Dubriwny, vice president of Sales and Business Development for ADVIZOR Solutions, Inc. "This combination will enable organisations to more easily keep track of all vital information, such as key performance indicators, in the most revolutionary ways. This will also undoubtedly bring CPM applications, such as scorecards and executive dashboards, to new levels of innovation."
