Bidding to gain a clear lead in the market for business intelligence systems, Seagate Software has launched Seagate Info 7, an integrated suite of business intelligence tools formerly known as Seagate Crystal Info. Seagate said the new product features enancements based on experience and feedback from 750,000 customers worldwide and over 500 corporate customers in Australia.
Roger Ipaviz, Information Manager at Boral Building Products Division, was quotred by Seagate Software as saying that version 7 has all the little enhancements to make life easier for us as administrators, as well as the development enhancements.
"The new Outlook tools, Web browser enhancements and extra administration settings are really important because they give us the choice to use the most appropriate method of deploying - whether that's through the Web, via Outlook or using the Seagate Info client desktop."
Seagate Software said Info 7 incorporates all of the expected sets of data access and analysis components including report design, ad hoc query, advanced SQL editing, OLAP cube building, multidimensional analysis, report viewers, schedulers, and processing servers. Seagate Info also seamlessly integrates with Seagate Holos for complex, business specific application development, data mining, and statistical analysis. In total, Seagate Info is an assembly of best-of-breed, open and integrated tools packaged to fit each user's needs.
Available for order immediately, Seagate Info 7 is sold in Australia through resellers and distributors. A client license is $496 per seat (upgrade for $267). Designer module is $670.
